If you have decided that a purebred Bengal kitten is the
purr-fect match for you, it's of utmost importance that you
acquire your kitten from a reputable US Bengal breeder. Just
as dogs and puppies are exploited by puppy mills, backyard breeders
and pet stores in the US - so are purebred cats and kittens.
Purchasing a Bengal kitten from any source other than a responsible
breeder can be a one-way ticket to heartbreak, since kittens
from these sources can have a shopping list of health and behavior
problems.
What should I look for in a responsible Bengal cat breeder?
1. Knowledge -
A responsible Bengal cat breeder will be very well educated
about the breed, and health and temperament of her cats and
kittens.
2. Care
- A responsible Bengal cat breeder is caring. Her cats and kittens
are loved and treated as members of the family.
3. Concern - A
responsible Bengal cat breeder will be concerned about the wellbeing
of her cats and kittens. She'll want to know a lot about you,
and put you through a "screening" process before agreeing to
place one of her kittens with you.
4. Accountability
- A responsible Bengal cat breeder will follow a carefully selective
breeding program. The goal of each breeding should be to produce
the healthiest, soundest kittens possible, while adhering to
the breed standard set forth by the governing cat breed association.
In addition to this, the breeder should offer, and stand behind,
a reasonable health guarantee on her kittens.
5. Commitment
- A responsible Bengal cat breeder will be committed to the
welfare of her kittens. She should be willing to offer you a
reasonable amount of post-sale support to answer any questions
you may have as you adjust to life as a kitten owner.
She should want to keep in touch with you and receive photos
and updates on how your kitten is doing. The breeder should
also be willing to assist you in re-homing your kitten, should
circumstances prevent your fulfilling your commitment to raising
the feline, for any reason.

Many Bengal breeders have sadly got caught up in the beauty of the Bengal’s magnificent coat and texture and have forgotten to keep in mind that beauty means nothing if you don’t have the health to go along with it. Health is at the top of our list and all of our breeding cats are vet checked and heart certified (HCM screened) on a regular basis. Almost all of our Bengal kittens go to their new homes already spayed/neutered, mirco-chipped, fully vaccinated, de-wormed and vet checked. By having all this done before they go to their new homes we eliminate much of the stressed associated with the re-homing process. When you take your Bengal kitten home all you have to do is love it! Our Bengal kittens are also sent home with the food they have been eating, a bag of litter, their toys, health records, baby pictures and a CD full of training information. The Bengals are very similar to dogs. They can easily be harness and leashed trained, love to play fetch and trained to sit, shake, roll over and even toilet trained. The CD we send home with them goes over how to train your new Bengal kitten and has loads of other useful information. Due to the unique personality of the Bengal cat and its high energy level, we ask that before calling to inquire about availability, prices or when you can come see the kittens that you have done your part to research the Bengal to make sure it’s the right breed for you and your family. We also ask that you take a gander at our Adoption Application, as you will be asked to fill it out and send it back before we set up a time for you to come to our home to view the babies. Photographing lively, quick-as-lightening kittens is difficult at best and extremely time consuming. Our kittens are already current on our website. We hope you understand. Kittens being held with deposits will be photographed at 7, 9, 10, 12, 14 weeks of age on requests.
